Slow flow yoga in Cononley

A calm, steady way to move, breathe and unwind. Wednesdays, 6–7pm · Cononley Village Institute · £9 a class

Victoria, founder of Pause and Bloom Yoga

What is slow flow yoga?

Slow flow brings movement and breath together at a calm, considered pace. Rather than rushing from one pose to the next, there’s time to settle into each movement and find an option that feels right for you.

Expect gentle, flowing movement, moments of stillness and a proper rest at the end. It’s a chance to step away from the day, move your body and leave feeling a little more settled.

Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, you’re welcome exactly as you are.

What to expect

Each class includes:

  • a gentle arrival and time to settle;
  • mindful movement linked with the breath;
  • clear guidance, with different options offered as we go;
  • an unhurried pace; and
  • a restful finish.

I’ll offer options throughout so you can listen to your body and move in a way that works for you. There’s no pressure to keep up, and no need for a pose to look a certain way.

Is this class for me?

This class suits you if you’re new to yoga, returning after a break, or simply prefer a slower, more mindful way of moving.

You don’t need to be flexible, know the names of the poses or have any experience at all. I’ll guide you through each part of the class and offer options, so you can choose what feels comfortable.

If you have an injury or a health condition, or you’re pregnant, do send me a message before booking so we can talk about whether the class is right for you just now.

Your first class

Coming to a new class can feel like a big step, and you’ll be warmly welcomed. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring your yoga mat. You’re welcome to arrive a few minutes early to get settled before we begin.

If you’d like to know anything before you come, send me a message — there’s no such thing as a silly question. And if Wednesday evenings don’t suit, you can see all my weekly classes on the classes page.

A little about me

I’m Victoria. I’m a 200-hour qualified yoga teacher with a further 50 hours of yin yoga training, and I teach calm, accessible yoga in Skipton and across the Dales.

I try to create classes where you can move without judgement, slow down and take some time for yourself. Whether this is your first class or yoga is already part of your week, you’ll be encouraged to practise in a way that feels right for you.

More about me

Questions people often ask

Do I need any yoga experience?+

No. The class is beginner-friendly, and I’ll guide you through each part of it.

Do I need to be flexible?+

Not at all. Yoga isn’t about how far you can stretch or how a pose looks. You’ll be encouraged to work with your own body and take the options that feel right for you.

Do I need to bring a mat?+

Yes, please. The Institute is a village hall rather than a yoga studio, so there are no mats to borrow. Bring your own, and anything else that helps you feel comfortable.

What should I wear?+

Comfortable clothing you can move easily in. There’s no need for special yoga clothing.

Where is the class?+

Cononley Village Institute, Main Street, Cononley, Keighley, BD20 8NT.

How do I book?+

Book and pay for your place online through Bookwhen. There are 16 spaces in each class.

Is the class suitable during pregnancy, or with an injury or health condition?+

Please send me a message before booking. We can talk it through together, and I may ask you to check with a healthcare professional first so you can take part safely.

Is this the same as the slow flow class in Skipton?+

It’s the same gentle style, taught by me, in a second venue. The Skipton class is at Holistic House, where all equipment is provided; in Cononley you bring your own mat. You’re welcome at either, or both.
