What the Afternoon Includes

An afternoon set aside for rest, with nothing to achieve and nowhere else to be. It takes its theme from autumn and the Metal element in Traditional Chinese Medicine: letting go, acceptance and turning inward, with the season as an invitation to reflect on what you’d like to make room for. We’ll move through:

  • gentle yin yoga, with slow, floor-based postures held for time and supported by props;
  • calming breathwork to help you slow down and arrive;
  • a little meridian theory, exploring the traditional associations of the autumn meridians, with time for quiet reflection;
  • a deep guided relaxation, with a body scan, breath awareness and a calming visualisation; and
  • a gentle oracle card ritual to close, a quiet moment to find a message or intention to carry with you.

Everything is offered as an invitation. You can rest in any shape for as long as you like, and stillness is always welcome.

Who’s Guiding the Afternoon

I’m Victoria. I’m a 200-hour qualified yoga teacher with a further 50-hour specialist qualification in yin yoga, and I love weaving meridian theory, mindful movement and breath awareness together.

My intention is a welcoming, nurturing space where you can step away from everyday demands and enjoy two hours that are entirely your own.

Is This for Me?

If life has felt busy or heavy lately and you’d like a couple of hours to set it down, this afternoon is for you.

You don’t need any yoga or meditation experience, and you don’t need to be flexible. Props support you in every shape, so you can let go rather than hold on.

If you have an injury or a health condition, or you’re pregnant, do send me a message before booking so we can talk about whether the afternoon is right for you just now.

What to Bring

Wear comfortable layers, as you’ll cool down as you become still, and bring a bottle of water. Mats, bolsters, blocks, eye pillows and blankets are all provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own.

We’ll be in the Mandala Studio on the first floor of Holistic House, 18 Otley Street, Skipton. Please leave your shoes in the cupboard by the entrance.
